Medical Absences from School
Sick or injured students are not able to spend the day in the nurse's office. If your child is not able to attend classes or is contagious, please keep him/her home.
Do not send your child to school if he/she:
* Has a fever of 100 degrees or higher (or needs a fever reducing medication to be fever free).
* Has had a persistent cold or cough.
* Has had vomiting or diarrhea within the past 24 hours.
* Has an unidentifiable skin rash.
* Has "pink eye" with itching and drainage.
* Has a contagious illness such as Chicken Pox or Strep Throat.
* Has active head or body lice.

Covid Protocol for schools
If your student has tested positive for covid, they need to be out of school for 24 hours from the time of the test. They can return to school if they are fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication and with symptoms improving. Symptoms include: shortness of breath, body aches and chills, headaches, extreme tiredness, nausea and stomachache, rash or sore throat. **It is encouraged to wear a mask for 5 days after resuming normal activities. Medications in Schools
Prescription medications require a physician's written order and must be in the original container .
All medications also require a consent form from parent or guardian.
All medications should be transported to and from school by a parent or guardian (we cannot accept medication from a student)
All medications should be picked up by the last day of the school year by a parent or guardian or they will be discarded.

Please remember to have your student's physical updated
and the form sent to the nurse's office as soon as possible.
It is important to send in your student's health data form to the nurse.
